"Stepfather Factory" Documentation
The muscle-monster and bled-pig mascot dichotomy is an implication as to the dual-nature of violence in our American capitalist system, but more specifically, comments on recurring violence found within the institution of remarriage. Hence the term "Stepfather Factory", which can be better described as a systemic, cyclical, and institutional misfortune chiefly affecting societies’ most vulnerable, I.E. children. The painting serves to adopt propagandic and advertisement aesthetics in an effort to satirize everyday products we may patronize, or everyday traditions we may participate in, as well as to serve as a call to action.
