"Tappi Tíkarrass" Documentation
Icelandic for “Cork the bitch’s ass”, the phrase "Tappi Tíkarrass" comes from the title of Björk’s first band, titled after bandmate Jakob Magnússon’s father’s comment after hearing them perform, commenting that their music “fit like a cork in a bitch’s ass”. Simultaneously poetic and crass, I shaped the imagery for this painting around the theme of an abstract and charming terror; a violent tandem force of evil, regarding the meat-dragon and the felonious charm hanging around its neck. The phrase is simple, funny, and moderately offensive, and the characters are portrayed as such.
