"Red" Series
The intent of the Red Series is to document, detail, and satirize authoritarian and fascistic sentiments seen in ever increasing frequency within this present zeitgeist. The works are a satire and a symptom of authoritarian mobilization, depicted with a certain consumerist visual vernacular often portrayed within “billboard aesthetics”, almost akin to a malfunctioning advertisement; cynical and almost unable to portray enthusiasm, works in the Red Series come off like a bleeding grin. Red, the fundamental and overarching visual facet of the series, isn’t meant to embody communism or fascism, commercialism or revolution; Red is imbalance. Red is the extremity of philosophy that coerces man to inflict suffering on to others.
